X was a keen cyclist studying for a doctorate at university. He relied on his bike to get around and could not afford the cost of a car. He was cycling in a cycle lane when a careless driver emerged from a car park and knocked him off his bike. He broke his wrist and his bike was not repairable.
He instructed us to assist him with his claim. We were able to ensure the driver’s insurers met the costs of his transport while he had a cast on his arm and replaced his bike once he could ride again.
X was also awarded £4,500 in compensation.
